Description

KLG Jones was selected to provide full commissioning services for the new LEED Silver corporate headquarters and research facility for Hubbell Lighting . The new facility houses the engineering, marketing, planning, sales, financial, credit and administrative functions for the company. Space types include development laboratories, offices, auditorium, and display space.

Commissioning services were provided to fulfill the LEED Energy and Atmosphere prerequisite as well as the Enhanced Commissioning credit point. The services include full design development and construction document review, commissioning specifications, commissioning plan, construction inspection, shop drawing review, pre-functional check lists, functional performance testing, failure mode testing, Owner’s training, system documentation and warranty walkthrough.

Systems commissioned include the central utility plant, air handling units, VAV terminals, exhaust fans, variable frequency drives, emergency generators, Liebert computer room air conditioning units, UPS systems, distribution transformers, outdoor lighting, and the building automation system.

The cost of construction for this building was approximately $27 million dollars.
