KLG Jones provided commissioning services for the new free-standing two-story Cancer Treatment Center for Bon Secours St. Francis Healthcare System.
The project includes a linear accelerator [LINAC] with chilled water cooling, treatment and infusion rooms, several pharmacies with clean mixing rooms, and various patient care areas. Central station air handling units supply cold air to VAV boxes throughout the building. Electric coils in the VAV boxes provide heating for the spaces as well as reheat for humidity control.
KLG Jones provided complete commissioning services for the HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting and emergency power systems. Services include DD and CD phase design reviews, commissioning specifications, commissioning plan, pre-functional checklists, construction inspections, custom test scripts and full technical functional performance testing. KLG Jones also participated in the Client training, warranty walkthrough and we developed a recommissioning manual.
The facility includes Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology, and Infusion. There are 52 treatment bays from open to semi-private to private in the Infusion department. There are 24 exam rooms and 4 team work areas in the Medical Oncology department.
The project was completed on schedule in a collaborative format with few startup issues. This was the first freestanding outpatient comprehensive cancer treatment center for Bon Secours St. Francis.
