KLG Jones was hired by AdventHealth to act as the technical commissioning authority on the 5,229 SF renovation at the existing Cancer Institute in Orlando, Florida.
The project was to convert an existing non-pharmacy space into an infusion USP800 pharmacy with compounding capabilities.
Mechanical systems include two new air handling units serving Phoenix supply and exhaust venturi-style air valves, as well as constant volume terminal units. The air handlers are served by campus chilled water and campus hydronic heating water. There are also nine exhaust fans and a building automation control system. The room pressure monitoring system was integrated to the BAS system and validated.
We provided full commissioning services for the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. KLG Jones reviewed the drawings and submittals for compliance with the contract drawings and specifications.
Periodic site visits were made to inspect the construction and hold commissioning meetings. Custom functional performance tests were prepared and the functional testing was coordinated in conjunction with the contractors. Test and balance report was validated through random sampling techniques. Functional testing was performed and associated backcheck was completed.
It is our understanding the project successfully passed the USP800 protocol, AHCA inspections, and the Florida Board of Pharmacy certification process.
